I can say from experience that this is an internet-wide issue, and I'd like to add that it's not Just that people feel emboldened to sexualize strangers, but the Kinds Of People that are being sexualized
for additional context, the original post was referring to a canonically disabled character that's been through two traumatic car accidents (among other things).
I don't think it's a coincidence that this confident sexualization of strangers is so often connected to minority groups. queer people, people of color, disabled people, fat people, and more
